"Theory of superconducting devices"

We are looking for a Ph. D. student or a postdoc to work on the theory of quantum phase-slips in Josephson junction chains at the Laboratoire de Physique et  Modélisation des Milieux Condensés in Grenoble (France), in close collaboration with the experimental quantum coherence group at the Néel Institute in Grenoble. The position is funded by a European grant for 3 years in the case of a Ph. D. student, or for 2 years in the case of a postdoc.

The candidate should have background in solid state physics and/or superconductivity. Knowledge of numerical methods is welcome but not necessary. Potential candidates are encouraged to contact Frank Hekking or Denis Basko  as soon as possible, but no later than 15 July 2014.
