Anna Minguzzi,
CNRS Research Director at the Laboratoire de Physique et Modélisation des Milieux Condensés (LPMMC) in Grenoble and Director of the QuantAlps Research Federation.
A former student of the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa (Italy), Anna Minguzzi obtained her PhD there in 1999, before being recruited by the CNRS in 2005. Her highly original theoretical work lies at the interface between atomic physics and condensed matter physics, focusing on the description of cold atoms and exciton-polaritons in semiconductors. Beyond purely theoretical research, she has developed numerous collaborations with experimentalists, paving the way for the understanding of complex physical phenomena in interacting quantum systems.
Her work has contributed to the emergence of “atomtronics,” which aims to use atomic devices for quantum technologies. Deeply committed to promoting quantum science and technology, Anna Minguzzi co-founded the QuantAlps Research Federation, which she now directs. She also led a major European project, “Quantum Grenoble,” dedicated to research-based training on an international scale.
